5004406 First Order General In Detail

Numerous polybagged exclusive LEGO Star Wars sets and minifigures were distributed globally, either directly by LEGO or through retail partners. This minifigure was one of four The Force Awakens exclusives in 2015 – the other three being the 30277 MINI First Order Star Destroyer, 30278 MINI Poe’s X-wing Fighter and 30605 Finn (FN-2187) polybags.

First appearing as part of a Toys “R” Us Hong Kong promotion in January, 2015 it continued to be used as a sales enticement through to December when it was included with select video game purchases at EB Games in Australia. The figure was particularly popular with collectors, however, its haphazard distribution created a level of frustration amongst fans of LEGO Star Wars around the world. Though it appeared similar to the General Hux minifig that was included with 75104 Kylo Ren’s Command Shuttle, released in 2015, there was enough of a difference for it to draw significant attention.

Notably, the minifig has a black uniform which does not match the canon charcoal colour, nor does it have the correct First Order officer insignia for the rank of general.
