While the practise of regional exclusives was supposedly cancelled last year, LEGO has managed to muddy their own waters by limiting this set to North America. In a statement included on the set’s shop@home listing, LEGO, at the recommendation of its ambassador network, has attempted to clear up the original purpose of this set.

While originally planned to be available at an event that is no longer taking place, this set will now be available at LEGO.com!

Unfortunately this means that the set is still considered an event exclusive, and there won’t be additional stocks made available to non-North American markets.

Wisely the building instructions have already been made available, allowing collectors to build their own using their own bricks – though whether the sticker sheet will be available to buy via Bricklink, now that LEGO owns this secondary marketplace, remains to be seen.

At least LEGO has demonstrated the foresight to limit the sale of this set to three items per order household in order to ensure that the limited production run will get to as many fans as possible.
