Ahead of Christmas, Hallmark has released two new LEGO Star Wars minifigure sculpts to its Keepsake ornaments, leaving you plenty of time to untangle your lights.
Who needs a Christmas tree ornament review? You just hang them on a branch, stand back and enjoy, right? Well yeah, that’s the long-and-the-short of it, but if you’re a LEGO Star Wars collector or an ornament aficionado you know that there are plenty of ways to spend your hard-earned cash at this time of year, and so occasionally a review can help sort the wheat from the chaff.

Create holiday memories and build on Han Solo and Chewbacca’s epic adventures with these two Christmas tree ornaments that feature the lovable scoundrel and his brave Wookiee companion in signature LEGO styling.
LEGO Star Wars Han Solo Ornament
Dating from 2008 and first appearing in 10179 Ultimate Collector’s Millennium Falcon, this Keepsake ornament is based on Han Solo (sw0179) in his classic outfit from A New Hope.
Hallmark’s sculptor, Jake Angell, has given this ornament a dynamic stance and you’d be excused for thinking that this Keepsake ornament is articulated, so well does the styrene hold the detail.
LEGO Star Wars Chewbacca Ornament
Based on the original Chewbacca minifigure (sw0011) that came out with 7217 Imperial AT-ST in 2001, this Wookiee warrior is armed with a bowcaster and set in a straight-legged stance.
Though it is a simple sculpt and seemingly lacks the intricacies of the other LEGO Star Wars minifigure ornaments, this Keepsake, which is made of styrene, on closer inspection perfectly mimics the ABS of the original minifigure.
These ornaments measure 2.46″/6.3cm tall, maintain the minifigure look at 140% of the normal scale and are made of lead-free plastic. They are both available at Hallmark.com and Amazon.com for $16.99 (MSRP) each. Members of Hallmark’s Crown Rewards programme get free shipping in the United States.
Despite the fact that LEGO Star Wars has been around for just over 20 years, Hallmark has been making Christmas decorations since the early 1900s and Christmas has been celebrated (in its current form) as long ago as the 16th century, there are relatively few – nine to be precise – LEGO Star Wars ornaments.
