LEGO Star Wars Reaches New Heights

After a long, tough year and with the coming of Christmas, there’s no better time to #rebuildtheworld – and the LEGO Star Wars team have stepped up to the challenge by helping to redecorate the Empire State Building’s famous Fifth Avenue window display with an assortment of festively decorated Star Wars sets.

Visitors to this special holiday ground level window display, which is just one Christmas event in New York’s long list of winter attractions, can three recent LEGO Star Wars sets – including 75318 The Child – with an added festive touch.

The display will only be visible to tenants of the building and visitors to the observatory decks which, with the easing of restrictions, have only just re-opened.

“We are thrilled to be reopened and a part of New Yorkers’ holiday plans this year,” said Jean-Yves Ghazi, president of the Observatory. “With our $165 million reimagined Observatory Experience and new safety protocols which includes reduced capacity and timed ticketing, guests are welcome to experience the joy of the holiday season from the heart of New York City.”

If this is inspiring you to create your own Christmas decorations from a galaxy far, far away then check out the LEGO Star Wars design team’s video for ideas on how to decorate your sets. If you do make your own LEGO Star Wars-inspired decorations then don’t forget there is still time to take part in the #rebuildtheworld charity campaign that will help underprivileged children have a brighter holiday season.

  1. I’m sure it looks great but I can’t help but think that The Empire State Building is the perfect place to have a Christmas display featuring the Battle of Hoth from The Empire Strikes Back in this 40th anniversary year. It’s a shame that LEGO went with commercially available sets instead of being inventive and showing that they are in-tune with their fans.
