There were strong rumors last year that a new Imperial Shuttle was coming, and many speculated that it would be an updated Ultimate Collector Series style. As the 75275 A-wing Starfighter and then 75290 Mos Eisley Cantina were added to the UCS and MBS subthemes respectively, it became clear that it was not on the books for 2020.
Like any good rumor – especially a LEGO one – the conjecture continued and has turned out to be correct just not in the UCS size that many had hoped for. Thanks to Promobricks we now know that 30388 Imperial Shuttle will be the first Star Wars polybag of 2021.
Coming in at 85 pieces, it will be the largest mini-scale Imperial Shuttle to be released. The set is expected next month and has a suggested price of €3.99.
This is the second Imperial Shuttle that has been announced for the next wave of sets which makes it unlikely that an Ultimate Collector Series Imperial Shuttle will be released in 2021 either. Surely three Shuttles in one year would be too many, right?
