It’s (Video) Game Time! Minifigure Recap I – Boba Fett

As the release date for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga inevitably grows closer, the hype surrounding the game and all of its content grows as well. To distract ourselves from the prolonged waiting, let’s see how in-game characters have changed over time.

Boba Fett

  • Class: Bounty Hunter
  • Weapon: Blaster Rifle
  • Accessory: Jet Pack, Thermal Detonator, Grappling Hook, Homing Missile (with Power Brick)
  • Abilities: Dodge Blaster Shots, Punch, Kick
  • Playable: Yes

The first bounty hunter version of Boba Fett was featured in LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy. This version mimics sw0002a found in 6209 Slave I and 6210 Jabba’s Sail Barge. He remains unchanged for LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga.

Found in LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars, the next version of Boba Fett is similar to sw0279 which is found in 8097 Slave I. The video game version does not come with a pauldron like the physical minifigure does.

The most recent Boba Fett, included in LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, is similar to sw0711 found in 75137 Carbon Freezing Chamber and 75243 Slave I – 20th Anniversary Edition. Just like his predecessor, this video game version does not come with a pauldron.

From preliminary game footage, Boba Fett is expected to be included in The Skywalker Saga. This will be the first version to come with a pauldron! Interestingly he does not match any known minifigures. His legs are the same as the ones found on sw0822 from 75174 Desert Skiff Escape. The torso appears to be the same as the prior Boba Fett shown above, but the hands are tan which is again consistent with sw0822. Perhaps this is a sign of a future minifigure design!

Which of the expected 300 playable characters in the LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga are you most excited for?
