Even though the dust is settling now that the May The 4th Be With You juggernaut is over the horizon, there is still news to share as some of the regional and third-party offerings start to appear on the secondary market.
Readers will remember that German mono-brand retailer JB Toys ran a special May The 4th promotion for an exclusive gift box, free with LEGO orders over €175 during their May The 4th Be With You campaign while stocks last (and with the gift box limited to 750 pieces stock ran out, allegedly, in a few hours of the offer starting) and many wrote in asking what it was.
With our contacts at DK, whose logo was included on the placeholder box graphics, unable to provide details it’s been a waiting game – until now, thanks to this listing on eBay Classified in Germany.
According to the listing, the contents – which were contained in a box with an interesting print of an R2-D2 minifigure decorating it – included an art print, a 75295 Millennium Falcon Microfighter set, the 30388 Imperial Shuttle polybag, a German-language copy of Star Wars in 100 Scenes (DK’s contribution), an exclusive print of Emperor Palpatine and a custom-made minifigure with two torso elements with the same R2-D2 print as the box’s cover (in black or white).
It should be noted that the print and the minifigure, like their MT4BWY poster series, were commissioned and produced by JB Toys and are neither endorsed by LEGO or official products. While they are appealing pieces of merch, these aren’t going to be added to our ever-growing database of LEGO Star Wars products.
