With more LEGO Star Wars rumors than you can shake a stick at, it’s getting hard to keep up with all the pop-up stories of what sets are believed to be part of the next LEGO Star Wars wave because another set has been added to the growing list.
According to Instragrammer lego_fulcrum, the latest rumor adding more to the pile of Winter wave sets (due out late December in North America and early January in the rest of the world) is an alleged set containing a new Luke Skywalker and a multitude of Dark Trooper minifigures.
Tipped to reflect the final showdown aboard Moff Gideon’s Light Cruiser that saw the first post-Return of the Jedi appearance of Luke Skywalker, the set is rumored to have a price point of $29.99. This puts its part count in the same ballpark as 75280 501st Legion Clone Troopers, a set that came out with five minifigures – suggesting that it will likely include Grogu or R2-D2.
Given that the scene that sees Luke Skywalker defeat the Imperial Remnant’s platoon of 3G dark troopers played out in the corridor leading to the ship’s bridge, it’s fair to say that – if true – the set will include a corridor piece and doorway, and be more akin to a playset that a traditional battle pack.
If all the predictions for the theme come true the first half of next year is looking to be an exciting and inventive one.
Are you looking forward to 2022, a year that will include the 20th anniversary of Attack of the Clones and the return of Star Wars Celebration?
