What better place to start the series off than with the first mission! The Republic Cruiser is the first ship we see from The Phantom Menace, so it is a worthy inclusion for the first minikit. This set has only been released in three forms: system scale with set 7665 and two mini-scale versions included in 7958 and 75279 Advent Calendars.

Mini Review
This is a great design for a ship that has been neglected for far too long in LEGO form. The size is impressive and is exactly what the ship needs to fit in with the others from the mini-scale range. The main hull is sturdy and goes together easily. The most difficult portion of the build is the rear engines. While the construction is easy to follow, the pieces required makes it somewhat unstable. Once the engines are attached to the rest of the ship though, the stability is improved. Due to the nature of a digital build, the front portion of the ship is open for interpretation. In order to connect the two “halves” of the ship, a red 2×2 brick and a 3L axle were selected which maintains the look of the in-game ship. There are no rare parts required for this build, so it can be assembled from common elements.
