Outside Dexter’s Diner: The Video Game Minikits – Royal Starship

Padme’s Nubian starship is one of the most glaring omissions from the LEGO Star Wars universe but for good reason. The first is that the ship is unlikely to be popular with LEGO’s core audience – which whether most of us want to admit it or not is children. The second is that LEGO is unlikely to release a model with that much chrome detailing. Although chromed elements are still released in sets, these parts are prone to damage which would result in more complaints to customer service.

Mini Review

This ship is much larger than the average mini-scale model which makes it look impressive when next to the other minikits. The small piece count makes the model lightweight. Even though the model had to be built in light bluish gray it still looks good and represents the in-game build well (but we admit chrome silver would be even better)! The antennas on each side of the ship are prone to falling off which also makes the model feel somewhat flimsy. The rear of the ship has a weak connection between a couple of plates, but once the final pieces are attached it solidifies the model nicely. Overall it is nice to see Tt Games do something that LEGO has not yet done.
