LEGO Ideas: Light Up Your Star Wars Collection

The latest Activity at LEGO Ideas is up and running and is asking you to show off your illuminated LEGO Star Wars sets, so whether you’ve got a complete set of the LULS minifigures, a lite-brite Mos Eisley Cantina or you’ve strung up some fairy lights to show off your collection, LEGO Ideas wants to see what you’ve got.

GALAXY OF LIGHTS

Ever tried lighting up your LEGO Star Wars dioramas with Christmas lights or whatever you have laying around? Big or small, let’s see your dioramas light up!

While they are clear that this isn’t a competition, LEGO hasn’t stated what the purpose of this latest activity will result in, but if you’ve been following LEGO news you’ll know that they are developing a Night Mode lighting range, and with the announcement that a working lighthouse set is coming from the LEGO Ideas team, it is likely that this is an early activation event in advance of the new lighting kits.

This community activity will be run until 10am (CEST) on Tuesday, October 12th, 2021 so you’ve got a week to get your entries in before submissions close.

To ensure that your submission meets the right standards take note of the following guidelines:

  • You may use photo editing software, such as Photoshop, to enhance your entry’s presentation.
  • Make sure your photos are well-lit, not blurry, in a reasonably high resolution, preferably have a neutral background (no background clutter please).
  • All entries will be cropped to a square aspect ratio. Please be aware of this when you’re trying to enter this activity.
  • You must be the original creator of all creative work you submit (the model, images, photographs, description text, etc.).

Normally the LEGO Ideas team will accept digital entries using LEGO Digital Designer or Bricklink’s Studio, this time around (though the guidelines don’t preclude digital photos) it’s not really in the spirit of the Activity.

If you’re not sure what this is all about then check out the full Activity post and head over to Light My Bricks, Brick Stuff or Lightailing for more inspiration!
