Call That A Lightsaber? 40483 GWP Confirmed In Australia

Following the reveal on Tencent that 40483 Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber is going to be a gift with purchase (GWP) when 75313 AT-AT goes on sale in China on November 26th, the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Chadstone and one LEGO Certified Store have exclusively confirmed to The Holo-Brick Archive that this prop replica of Luke Skywalker’s first lightsaber will be given away with purchases of the new Ultimate Collector Series AT-AT in Australia.

While the giveaway set – which follows in the footsteps of 6346098 Yoda’s Lightsaber – hasn’t been confirmed by LEGO Australia or the LEGO Certified Stores operated by Alceon yet, it is good news for residents of Melbourne and those in reach of the Dreamworld theme park on the Gold Coast.

At first glance, this might not seem remarkable, but because the LEGO footprint in Australia is managed by four different companies – The LEGO Group (online), Merlin Entertainment (LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Chadstone), Alceon (eleven Certified Stores) and Ardent (one Certified Stores) – event and VIP programs don’t always sync with each other, or the rest of the world.

Whether the GWP will only be available for the launch weekend or until December 25th, the same as the Chinese offer, has not been made clear. What is known is that there will not be a midnight launch event, as is being hosted in Europe.

This build-and-display model is the AT-AT that every LEGO Star Wars fan has been waiting for! Featuring posable legs and head, cannons with a realistic recoil action, rotating cannons, bomb-drop hatch and a hook to attach to Luke Skywalker’s line, at 24.5 in (62 cm) high it is head and shoulders above any previous version of the feared Imperial Walker.

Coming with General Veers, Luke Skywalker, Snowtrooper Commander, four Snowtroopers and two AT-AT Drivers minifigures, 75313 includes non-socially distanced seating for a total of 40 snowtrooper minifigures, two speeder bikes (and can fit an additional two), as well as an E-Web heavy repeating blaster.

Due for release on November 26, 2021 at 00:00 AEST in Australia, this set is priced $1299.99 and will be available via LEGO.com, all the LEGO Certified Stores in Australia, as well as LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Chadstone in Melbourne.
