Brothers In Harms: No One Expects The Imperial Inquisition!

The concept of the Inquisitorius was introduced to Star Wars fans through the animated series Rebels. These Force-sensitive followers of the Dark Side were led by the Grand Inquisitor and oversaw by Darth Vader himself. For those who don’t know the Inquisitors let’s recap the members of this elite group and where we’ve seen them.

  • The Grand Inquisitor – Rebels
  • Second Sister – Jedi: Fallen Order
  • Fifth Brother – Rebels
  • Sixth Brother – Ahsoka novel, Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith comic
  • Seventh Sister – Rebels
  • Eighth Brother – Rebels, Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith comic
  • Ninth Sister – Jedi: Fallen Order, Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith comic
  • Tenth Brother – Jedi of the Republic – Mace Windu comic, Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith comic
  • Unnamed Male – Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith comic
  • Unnamed Female – Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith comic

It is unknown just how many Inquisitors were in operation, but the twelve known members were tasked with hunting down the remaining members of the Jedi Order. Although Rebels follows the adventures of Kanan Jarrus and Ezra Bridger, it’s the story of Obi-Wan Kenobi that has sparked a new interest in the Inquisitors.

This isn’t the first time LEGO has tackled the Inquisitors though, so let’s take a look at what we’ve had so far.

The Grand Inquisitor

Also known as the Master of the Inquisitorius, this fallen Jedi Temple Guard outranked the remaining Inquisitors and reported directly to Darth Vader.

The Grand Inquisitor was a Pau’an male and was the first of his species to be created in LEGO form. He received a unique head print to capture his white and red markings. A new shoulder element was created that had an elevated collar and a clip on the back to attach his lightsaber. Both his torso and leg printing were also unique. Finally, he was given a unique dual-molded helmet that overlapped the collar and had a transparent red visor for him to look through. He was exclusive to 75082 TIE Advanced Prototype.

The Fifth Brother

Once a member of the Jedi Order, after surviving Order 66 he was converted to the Dark Side and joined the Inquisitorius.

Very little is known about this Inquisitor including his species. For the LEGO version his gray-toned skin was captured with a dual-sided head print. His torso and legs were each given a unique print to represent the black and gray armor characteristic of all the Inquisitors. He also came with a new shoulder element that was printed on the front and had a lightsaber clip on the back. The Fifth Brother also had a unique metallic headpiece which required yet another new LEGO mold. He was only found in 75157 Captain Rex’s AT-TE.

Appearing in the trailers for the upcoming Disney+ series, the Grand Inquisitor, Fifth Brother, and Third Sister have now been cast in live-action. What this means for LEGO Star Wars fans is still to be determined, but with the rumor of 75336 Inquisitor Scythe Transport‘s inclusion of four minifigures the answer will be coming in less than two weeks as part of Obi-Wan Wednesdays.
