75365 Yavin 4 Rebel Base
Ages | Pieces | VIP Points | Item | Minifigures | Value |
We first heard about this set being a possible release back in 2021, now about two years later we finally have Yavin 4 in hand. The LEGO Group has made several attempts to include smaller little Yavin portions in different sets over the years. However this is the base’s first proper appearance. With 12 characters this set really pushes the boundaries of what The LEGO Group should be focusing on. The Luke appears for the first time in Light Bright Yellow compared to the original Yellow figure that was released with multiple books. The medals are their own peice and are nicely printed. To match the original scene in the movie the medals cannot be put on Chewbacca. The base features 7 stickered parts and a bunch of tiny fun details. This set finally merges the potential of what a displayable yet playable set should look like.
Despite several complaints online I think the Y-wing is an amazing addition to this set. Capturing the starship at a great scale for the base. With some rebel ground crew, stairs to board and some landing lights.
Once again we need to circle back to the fact that Chewbacca still has no medal. Is the rebel alliance full of space racists? Do they not know that he is indeed an intelligent creature and not Han Solo’s walking carpet and/or dog?
Overall the set is a solid addition to any Star Wars collection. The backlash from the community has once again started before anyone was able to actually get this set in hand. If I had to predict I would say that this set will end up being a great investment and perform similarly to 75098 Assault on Hoth. Stay tuned for our next couple reviews on the Star Wars Mech line.
