After weeks of waiting, besides those few hours that pre-orders accidentally went live on Amazon back on October 14th – suggesting that someone typed in 10 instead of 11 in the month field – the ex-San Diego Comic-Con exclusive 77904 Nebulon-B Frigate has finally been made available on LEGO.com and Amazon.com for customers in the United States, after having been confirmed earlier this week via their Facebook page.
- 77904 Nebulon-B Frigate at Amazon.com ($39.99)
- 77904 Nebulon-B Frigate at LEGO.com ($39.99)
LEGO.com sold out of their initial stock in 15 minutes and opened a second box 10 minutes later. Keep hitting that F5 button! Completely sold out after 25 minutes. Amazon.com's listed went live at 6am EST and all stocks sold by 6:30am.
The other SDCC exclusive set, 77905 Taskmaster’s Ambush, has been made available on several occasions recently, but patience has been a required virtue for LEGO Star Wars collectors. However, some managed to get the set early after finding them in LEGOLAND Discovery Centers over the past couple of weeks.
What some fans have found to be odd about the Nebulon-B is that, unlike the art on the ex-Star Wars Celebration Anaheim exclusive 75294 Bespin Duel set, the box artwork still has the SDCC logo. While this is not necessarily surprising as the designs are completed months in advance of an event, it does make one question why the Taskmaster set does not have the logo.
The total number for this set has not been announced, but based on previous exclusives it is reasonable that the number is somewhere around 3,000 units. It does not appear that there is a limit on the number that any one person can purchase from Amazon, so this may be a scalper’s dream and at the very affordable price of $39.99 it is reasonable to assume that they will sell out quickly. LEGO, however, has set a limit of three for purchases from their site.
As with any highly anticipated set that has limited production runs, may the odds be ever in your favor. If you happen to miss out on this set, you can always head over to our instructions section where a PDF of the manual can be downloaded so that you can build your own exclusive!
