The official LEGO Star Wars site has revealed plans for their May 4th – aka Star Wars Day extravaganza – and it’s a big one this year! Coming off the back of the new UCS R2-D2 reveal, this year’s event is the biggest ever, with a combined instore/online crowd-sourced building event, a free minifigure and poster, plus discounts on selected sets.
Use the force this May 4th and 5th and you’ll receive some fantastic LEGO Star Wars gifts plus free shipping when you spend $75 or more at a LEGO Store or via shop.LEGO.com. You can qualify for these offers and also earn an instant VIP Reward when you purchase the brand new R2-D2 Exclusive. This great addition to the LEGO Star Wars theme measures over 12 inches high by 7.1 inches wide and will keep even the most devoted young Jedi busy for hours… happy building!
Most intriguing of all is the virtual mosaic that LEGO fans are being asked to contribute to – all you need to do is take a photo of your collection or a set you’ve build and upload it via starwars.lego.com/creations (you can do this a participating brand store too) on Star Wars: May The 4th Be With You day and the digital artists at LEGO will turn all the submissions (check the terms and conditions for details) into a mega mural, which will get revealed the next day (dubbed Revenge of the 5th).
