The Low Altitude Assault Transport/infantry (LAAT/i) or simply the Republic Gunship has been under significant focus in the past few months given the release of the 75309 Ultimate Collector Series version. We also did a significant rundown of all of the different versions that have been created, so we won’t reiterate that here!

Mini Review
After a couple of small builds, this Republic Gunship minikit really picks it back up! The model is based off the 4490 mini-scale version with only a few differences. The most notable is the exclusion of the cockpit section that clipped onto the front of the ship on the official version. The second is replacing the two modified 1×2 bricks with grills with a single 2×2 brick. This gives the side of the ship a smoother appearance than the official model. The last is a switch in position of some of the pieces on the top of the ship. This doesn’t impact the design or look of the ship unless you are particularly paying attention. All of the gray elements have been updated to the light and dark bluish gray versions for accuracy as well. The lime green brick on the nose of the ship is the only rare part since it only came in the official Republic Gunship, but the ship otherwise can be completed fairly inexpensively.
