LEGO Ideas Is Hosting A Brickfilm Competition

From the earliest brickmotion film to this year’s Hallowe’en holiday special, LEGO bricks have been a popular medium for LEGO fans to express their love of all things Star Wars, and now the LEGO Ideas have just launched a competition celebrating the holidays!

Celebrations are happening across the galaxy! But how do they look? We’re asking you to create Brickfilms in the Star Wars™ universe, based around some of the best ‘Earth’ holidays!

Your brickfilm should relate to one of the following themes:

  • May the 4th (Star Wars™ Day)
  • Father’s Day
  • Summer Holidays/Back to School
  • Holiday season (Christmas, New Year etc.)

Your brickfilms should be between 15 and 30 seconds and either feature royalty-free music/sounds, using the provided sound effects from Lucasfilm or be silent.

Entries can be in either physical bricks or by using a digital building tool, and digital editing to add special effects, etc is allowed. Just make sure any music or sound is royalty-free.

Unlike any previous LEGO Ideas polls – like the fan-voted Ultimate Collector Series and BrickHeadz 150 polls – this one will have a double fan vote.

The first poll (from January 27th to February 3rd, 2022) will be to see which of the five entries, selected by the LEGO Ideas judges, in each of the categories listed above will go on to the second vote (starting on February 10th and ending February 17th, 2022) which will determine who, of the four finalists, wins the overall competition.

Winners of the first Fan Vote will each get 75309 Republic Gunship, 75288 AT-AT and a LEGO Ideas tote bag for their efforts, and the overall winner will also receive 75313 AT-AT

Interested? Head over to the LEGO Ideas competition page to get all the details and upload your entry, which needs to be in by 6am EST on January 13th, 2022.

Good luck to all the budding Ray Harryhausen’s out there!
