Of all the drinks in the Star Wars galaxy (and there are surprisingly quite a few of them), it is the rich blue-colored milk produced by female banthas on Tatooine that is the most revered. Until now it’s never been given the proper amount of attention by LEGO, but that has changed with the release of an exclusive Luke Skywalker minifigure for the launch of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga video game (out today).
With water a scarce commodity on the desert world of Tatooine, human settlers turned to the milk of the native bantha for hydration and their nutritional needs. With a taste that was said to be a combination of “oily and sweet and euch,” blue milk was drank plain as well as used in yogurt, ice cream, and butter.
Luke Skywalker
Growing up on Tatooine was tough for Luke Skywalker, whose natural ability to seek out adventure and skills as a bush pilot saw him get into plenty of scrapes in the Dune Sea and Jundland Wastes with his friends Biggs, Fixer, Camie, Deak and Windy.
The most surprising aspect is that Luke actually features a double-sided head print, and both sides have the blue milk mustache! Since the remaining parts of the minifigure are reused from other variants, this effort into the head is quite nice. Of course, we can’t forget about the specially printed milk carton either!
Available exclusively with the deluxe edition of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, the cheapest way to get this minifigure is to buy the game for $69.99 because current eBay prices are astronomical.
Alternatively, you could wait until May 4th, when – if the rumors are right – this minifigure will be part of the May The 4th Be With You promotion.
