With two weeks to go before the Star Wars Celebration 2022 kicks off at the Anaheim Convention Center, fans are naturally getting curious about what LEGO will be presenting during the four-day event.
The big news is that there won’t be an exclusive set at Star Wars Celebration this year.
UPDATE: Convention organizers ReedPop have clarified that LEGO will not be taking part in the exclusives lottery and have removed the company from the list of participants.
Instead, a new BrickHeadz set – 40457 Obi-Wan Kenobi & Darth Vader – from the Summer wave is going on advance sale in place of the traditional limited edition exclusive, tweeted @nc_fox and shared by The Brick Fan.
As usual, an advanced virtual selection process – also known as a lottery – will be in place, whereby Star Wars Celebration-goers can enter to buy one of the available sets. If selected during the random draw, attendees will be given a time slot on one of the days they are at the event to make their purchase.
Star Wars Celebration features some of the top brands from the Star Wars universe selling exclusive items that are not offered anywhere else. Funko and LEGO will be utilizing an advanced virtual selection process to provide more fans the opportunity to purchase exclusive items from their booth during a dedicated shopping window. Fans will be able to enter and manage exclusive item requests via the same random selection process described above for panels. Fans can only be selected for a shopping window on a day that they have a badge for Star Wars Celebration. You may not request to change or trade your assigned shopping window if you are selected.
Remember, the time a fan submits a request has no impact on your chance of being selected. Make sure you submit your request prior to May 19 at 11:59 PM PT.

This isn’t the first time LEGO has released an event set this way – in 2019 a similar lottery was conducted for 75227 Darth Vader Bust, a set that was also made available at Target stores in the United States. Given that BrickHeadz are typically exclusive to LEGO online and brand stores, the availability of 40457 Obi-Wan Kenobi & Darth Vader outside the convention is solid come August.
Following in the footsteps of the inaugural Obi-Wan Wednesday on May 25th, the Summer of LEGO Star Wars panel on the Galaxy Stage will reveal the rest of the Summer wave, and – much like the surprise early release of 75244 Tantive IV at the Star Wars Celebration convention in Chicago during 2019 – select sets in limited stocks will go on advance sale through the retail store at the LEGO footprint.
Don’t forget to add the LEGO Star Wars Collecting Track discussion panel talk to your schedule – topics covered will include a retrospective on the Attack of the Clones collection, a look at different ways you can focus your collection and not break the bank, and how LEGO has welcomed adult collectors into the fold – plus there will be a LEGO set given away to attendees (while stocks last).
