The Imperial forces - under orders from the villainous Darth Vader - hold Princess Leia captive, in their efforts to quell the Rebel Alliance who are fighting to free the galaxy from the Galactic Empire. An idealistic and young farmhand, Luke Skywalker, and Obi-Wan Kenobi, a venerable Jedi Knight join with Han Solo and Chewbacca to rescue the Princess and return the droid duo R2-D2 and C-3PO to the Rebel's secret base before the Empire's secret weapon - the Death Star - discovers them.
