Since the release of the very first Star Wars set in 1999, LEGO has been producing original story-telling content in the form of comics through its various publications. Largely set in a non-canon timeline in the Star Wars universe, the LEGO comic series have been used to encourage alternate builds and roleplay amongst children. Spanning the entirety of the theme, a number of publications included lengthier story arcs that were included in specific marketing campaigns.
