‘Tis The Season For Build To Give

If your LEGO Star Wars habits are more on the side of LEGO then you’ll likely already know about their #rebuildtheworld campaign to remind kids and adults to think outside the instruction booklet and be creative with their LEGO bricks.

Now they’re bringing the concept to Christmas and asking fans to get into the spirit of the season and build to give by creating – and uploading – Christmas tree ornaments made out of LEGO. In return for your time and ingenuity, LEGO will donate a set to children’s hospitals, children’s homes or vulnerable communities.

The holidays are the most wonderful time of the year, but for many children, it doesn’t always come with the same excitement. That’s why for the fourth year running, the LEGO Group is encouraging families to get creative and give the gift of play to a child-in-need, simply by making a Holiday ornament out of LEGO® bricks as part of its Rebuild the World campaign’s #BuildtoGive activity.

For every holiday creation shared on social media using the hashtag #BuildtoGive, the LEGO Group will donate a LEGO set to a child-in-need giving up to one million children in hospitals, children’s homes or vulnerable communities globally the chance to play this holiday season.

It’s easy to get involved and spread some festive goodwill. Families simply need to build a fun, festive ornament or decoration out of LEGO bricks, take a photo of it and share it on social media or LEGO Life using the hashtag #BuildToGive before the end of December. And with the LEGO Play Well study finding that over 9 in 10 parents say play helps them relax as a family(1), taking part in #BuildtoGive could offer families a great way to get into the festive spirit this year.

The LEGO sets will be donated in 26 countries where the campaign is active as well as countries where the LEGO Group has large offices or factories.
