With the multitude of new holiday products, a Holiday Special show, and even original creations you might have thought that LEGO Star Wars couldn’t get more festive this year. Well if that was where your mind was going, you would be wrong!
LEGO Star Wars in partnership with FIRST LEGO League announced a new holiday contest today as a continuation of their Force For Change campaign. Kelly Marie Tran, the actress behind Rose Tico, helped with announcement. The objective is to create a Star Wars holiday build using our favorite plastic bricks. Entries can be submitted to either Twitter or Instagram using #LEGOStarWarsHolidayContest
The grand prize winner will receive a 75192 Millennium Falcon and a FIRST LEGO League team or class registration! Four runner ups will receive the following:
- 75272 Sith TIE Fighter
- 75273 Poe Dameron’s X-wing Fighter
- 75288 AT-AT
- 75292 The Razor Crest
- 75318 The Child
The announcement comes hot on the heels of a post by LEGO themselves yesterday showing a variety of sets with a splash of holiday cheer. Perhaps this was a bit of foreshadowing!
What’s interesting is that all of this comes just after the LEGO Ideas contest closed on November 24th which had a similar premise. Between the video announcement, LEGO’s post, and the previous Ideas entries, there should be a lot of inspiration to create your own holiday build. Are you up for the task?
