LEGO Star Wars Battles Bites The Dust

Announced in September 2019 on StarWars.com, this real-time multiplayer PvP battle game – which was quickly compared to Clash Royale – has been dumped by its developers Playdemic in an in-game bulletin reports Brick Fanatics, who spotted a tweet from TableTopGamer earlier today.

While there is no word of the game on the developer’s own website, Twitter feed or Facebook page, the announcement came as a surprise to fans – many of whom have money tied up with in-app purchases who Playdemic advises “If you have any in game currency, remember to use it before the game goes offline on July 1st.”

LEGO Star Wars Battles was initially due to have a full release sometime in 2020, and despite it receiving a couple of updates, the full launch never came, leaving players concerned that further progress to the title was on the back burner when StarWars.com quietly changed the release date to “coming soon” at the start of 2021.

Playdemic, whose only other listed app game is Golf Clash, was previously known as Tt Odyssey – the mobile-focused arm of TT Games who are currently in a developmental mire with LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga video game.

Those following the story of this delayed addition to the LEGO Star Wars video game library will know that the parent company, Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment, has undergone an internal reshuffle with several departments being divested and others reorganized.
