Five Times Blue Milk Has Appeared In The LEGO Star Wars Universe

Following yesterday’s release of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and the exclusive 30625 Luke Skywalker with Blue Milk minifigure, we’ve identified five times that blue milk has made appearances in the LEGO Star Wars universe!

LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures

Airing on DisneyXD between June 2016 and August 2017, the 26 episodes and five shorts followed the Freemakers – a family of salvagers – and their ex-battle droid companion R0-GR. Traveling the galaxy looking for scrapped spaceships to rebuild, they found themselves caught between the Empire and the Rebel Alliance when Rowan, the oldest son, discovered he had a connection to the Force.

Showing up in the first episode of the first season, blue milk got its animated debut when the youngest Freemaker, Rowan, is made to stay aboard the StarScavenger after his clumsiness ruins the only chance the family has to pay off a debt. Sulking, he drinks a bottle of blue milk while telling R0-GR he isn’t a liability.

Available on Blu-Ray and DVD, both seasons of The Freemaker Adventures can be purchased on Amazon.com now.

The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special

The return of the Star Wars holiday special – the first since 1978 – came in time for Thanksgiving/Life Day 2020 and was met with great expectation and trepidation. Focussing on Rey, who was struggling to help Finn improve his connection with the Force, the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special treated viewers to a silly romp through the Star Wars timeline in a series of non-canonical scenes that helped Rey come to grips with her role as a Jedi mentor.

In one such scene, Rey falls through a portal and lands unceremoniously on Tatooine where an adolescent Luke Skywalker watches the twin suns of Tatooine setting over the Lars homestead while drinking blue milk.

You can still catch The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special on Disney+ if you haven’t seen it.

LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales

The follow-up to the Thanksgiving/Life Day special came a year later with a Halloween-inspired episode that features Poe Dameron and BB-8 marooned on Mustafar. Having to barter with a local mechanic to repair their starship, the duo must listen to Vaneé, Darth Vader’s old attendant, who regales them with a trio of terrifying tales linked to ancient artifacts and iconic villains across all eras of Star Wars.

In the special’s third chapter – The Wookiee’s Paw – an adolescent Luke Skywalker is sat at the Lars homestead’s breakfast table with his Aunt Beru when Uncle Owen comes in, grumbling that one of the service droids has broken down. Quickly wiping off the blue milk on his top lip, Luke heads off to Mos Espa to get a replacement.

Available to watch on Disney+, LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales is accessible to all subscribers.

75270 Obi-Wan’s Hut

Released as part of the Winter wave in 2021, 75270 Obi-Wan’s Hut was a small playset that recreated the hermitage where Obi-Wan Kenobi lived under his alias Ben Kenobi for nearly 20 years while he watched over a growing Luke Skywalker.

This simple fold-open rendition of Ben’s hovel included a small eating nook, where LEGO cunningly positioned a blue 1 x 1 brick and slope. While there isn’t anything that officially declares it as blue milk, it’s quite clear what it is meant to be.

Now retired, fans will have to look to secondary market sites like eBay.com and BrickLink to add this to their collection.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Video Game

With the release of The Rise of Skywalker, the Skywalker Saga was complete and LEGO Star Wars video gaming maestros, Tt Games, contrived a single game to encompass all nine movies of the three-part story arc. Available from April 2022, the game not only included a blue milk cameo but came with a Luke Skywalker minifigure that held a carton of bantha juice.

As well as a clip scene at the Lars homestead that’s reminiscent of the dining room in LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales, Luke also takes a slug of blue milk right before he steps out over the Sarlacc pit – a move that ultimately leads to the demise of Jabba the Hutt.

Out now, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is available from all good video game vendors.

Are you as surprised as we are that – until the release of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga on April 5th – blue milk never turned up in any of the previous video games? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
