Following on from the news that LEGO were replacing the nondescript pilot that was initially included with 75188 Resistance Bomber, with one based on Finch Dallow, the character played by Kevin Layne in The Last Jedi – more than a year after it was released, word in the LEGO Star Wars collecting community is that sets with the new minifigure have started to appear on toy store shelves.
According to Brickset, the updated version can be easily spotted as the new minifigure has been included on the set’s box front (though it hasn’t been amended to include the canon name of the character). According to Brickset the newly released set’s instructions also reflect this alteration.
And remarkably, according to one Redditor, you can upgrade your own 75188 Resistance Bomber without buying a new one. Simply contact LEGO’s customer service department and explain that you bought the set on its initial September 2017 release and they will send you the new helmet and face elements for free!
The modified set, which was was originally debuted by Layne via his Instagram account early in December last year, is due for retirement soon so this short-run Finch Dallow minifigure will likely become a must-have in the near future.
This service will likely be limited and on a needs basis, so be a good community member and just get one for your own collection so that other collectors can benefit too.
